After posting the best start to a year since 1997, the S&P 500 declined for the first time in four quarters. September was a particularly difficult as the S&P 500 was down 4.87% for the month. Ironically, September is traditionally known as the weakest month of the year.
The market is up 20% from its October 2022 low; however it remains roughly 8% off the high set on January 2, 2022. Let's take a look at past market recoveries.
